10am, I arrived Chengdu.

I had an appointment to meet host here. So I took metro 🚇 

Chengdu metro fee is depend on the distance. 1yuen, 3yuen, 5yuen...

Although t’s still cheap , but I felt it was expensive coz I was in Central Asia. If I traveled from Japan, I would pay with smiling.

Metro was quiet, I mean train(not people) doesn’t have noise, and announced by perfect English however seat was just metal without separating.

When I got in my destination, miraculously I found free WiFi ( ﾟ∀ﾟ )ﾊｧｰﾊｯﾊｯ!! 

Actually you can find free WiFi in China, it will not connect mostly case. Government might check your phone... lol

I sent message and location. Then he appeared soon. Hello Simon!!

He is learning Japanese and already he already knows some Japanese sentiand many vocabularies!! And the biggest surprise is He is not general Chinese!!

I like his opinion and my opinion is almost same view. As I thought he was generally Chinese people, it was very rare to meet such a this Guy.

Once we went to home which I can stay and got rest for a while.

Well, we picked his wife and son up and went to shopping mall to see garary of kids painting.

We lifted up second floor by using escalator. But both of them was been fixing.

After seeing weird pictures, we eat dinner together. They took me fancy Thailand restaurant.

Thai cuisine was delicious.

I ate dinner with hostel workers. They invited me to eat together!!

久しぶりの白飯にオカズ、という神バランスな組み合わせ。

These meals is very tasty!! It’s our style!! Especially white rice was extremely goodｲｪ━━━━━ヽ( ﾟДﾟ)人(ﾟДﾟ )ﾉ━━━━━━ィ

When we were eating, a guy taught that the temple will open 5:30am. Then many people come and pray.

Ok!!! I’ll try to wake up!!

So I went to a bed soon however I couldn’t sleep...

Yeeeesss!!! I woke up as my eyes were red.

I headed out to temple. Outside was stil dark and so cold. My sigh was white and little bit warm.

I wanted to feel what they do in this early morning...

Actually visitors like foreigner have to pay entrance fee 40cny, I pretended Tibetan and hold such a religious item 📿 which I got in Iranわwhile following local people. Then nobody asked me anything 🤭

They use like this. Someone prayed to lay down on the street.

All point has some power. Excellent moods.

After I exited this area, I climbed such as view point.

I quite enjoyed to join in early morning. If I had time more, I would stay here as long as possible. But I had to comeback Lanzhou..

I escaped crowding plane and went to train station and bought ticket to go Chengdu.

Chengdu is the biggest city in West China. And it’s panda 🐼 City.

The restaurant which I visited yesterday was filled people. This restaurant was really famous and popular.

The price is just 7CNY. It’s reasonable but I couldn’t get meat as I didn’t know the roles lol

このラーメン、まず麺が生麺で歯ざわりが良く柔らかめだけど油っぽいスープのユニホームをしっかりと着こなしている。ガツンとくる絡みと痺れが食欲をドンドン進める。選手を鼓舞するのが上手なクロップ監督かよ、ってくらいドンドンと。たまに食べる大根が給水ボトルを渡してくれる可愛いマネージャーの如く気持ちと口の中の辛味を和らげると共に再び戦おうという気持ちも再燃。

テラ美味いぞ、これ。

日本に最近進出したらしいけど、そんじょそこらの日本のラーメンより確実に美味い、そして安い。

After eating, I went to bus terminal. My destination is Xiahe. Xiahe is just 250km far from Lanzhou and there is Tibetan temple. I just wanted to visit there coz the pictures which I saw on internet was very beautiful.

My bus was gonna leave 2:00pm so I had a time. But bus terminal was far away from center, I just stayed in bus terminal.

While waiting, I saw an announcement by police.

Will this situation happen?? It’s looks like war!!🤣

The bus left on time. And we had to fasten our seat belt.

I arrived Xiahe 17:00. I confirmed bus schedule.

Next, I searched hostel in Xiahe. 

Actually Xiahe is in 3000m elevation. It was cold 🥶 

I found good hostel. I paid 40. It’s clean and huge, workers can speak English!!

Let’s strolling this town!!

I saw many Tibetan people. They put on traditional costumes and hut, accessory and so on. And their skin color were more black.

I arrived big temple entrance. Then there were mysterious items. People were touching and spinning this as walking one way!!! Is it Tibetan Buddhism’s praying style?

At first, I went to hostel. Taiwanese guy whom I met in hostel in Trufan help me to book. He found cheap and accepted foreigners one.

I forgot the name but here(→36°04′19.95″N 103°51′45.79″E)

When I told reception, old guy didn’t understand what I said Then there was a girl who can speak English helped me. Thanksssss.

I didn’t know my reservation worked or not.. but somehow they said “ok,ok”

So I suppose this hostel accepts foreigner travelers.

I paid 27CNY. It’s difficult to find under 30CNY price international hostel in China. That’s why I recommend this place however couchsurfing is working.

And this hostel didn’t register as using my passport lol

Well, I took a rest and shower 🚿 WiFi is still weak and unstable as this is China 🇨🇳 shit.

In the evening, I strolled town.

I heard that Lanzhou has great ramen shop. So I headed out to there.

I asked next shop of this restaurante. A guy said that The restaurante will open 6:30-2:00pm.

OMG... just half of day. Add to say, it’s only formar half day... Unless I must wake up and move quickly, I cannot eat this lol

So I changed my plan. I went to night market to eat.

But this market seemed to be Thailand or South East Asian market... so I got used to seeing such a this market. And these stalls were so expensive!!

I saw mostly workers are from Xinjiang. Coz man has a muslim hat, woman has hijab. So do they come to work or already completed brain wash?? Lol

Next destination is Lanzhou!! I thought I would get to there by hitchhike.

So I checked how long I should take. Map showed me awful and funny distance.

If I had a time and energy, of course I would try. But I had an appointment to meet friend in Lanzhou and next destination as well. Also my motivation to do hitchhike was decreasing and decreasing haha 

Another reason, actually it is not reason but excuse, I was afraid of police in Xinjiang or China. I know Hitthike in China isn’t ilegal. My friend have done it.

Yes, I know it’s crazy destination for drivers. If I wanna go faraway, I don’t write final destination but write close town. And I proceed step by step. That’s why I didn’t expect 99% that a car would pick me up.

Several cars closed or slow down speed but nobody went to there. Also a few cars told “ShanShanbe”

If I decided to proceed step by step, I would succeed to arrive. But I didn’t do lol

I was waiting for 6h, I finally gave up.

I bought cheapest ticket of sleeping train (201cny😭) as hard seat.  Like 100km/2$. Not so expensive, I guess.

Oh it’s better than Thailand hard seat!!

I was forecasting my seat was made of wood. However the back was straight 90°, It was comfortable.

Also my seat didn’t have other passengers, so I could lay down. 

OMG!! My socks was Korean socks 🧦 lol

9:30pm, the train left the station. Let’s escape from Xinjiang!!

This seat was cheapest one. As you can imagine, some people didn’t have morality..

And smoking space was between compartment and compartment, but they didn’t close door, smoke came into here. There is great desert in Shanshanbei. As is first time to see desert for him, he seemed to be excited.

He told me China has 3desert. One of them size is as well as Japan or bigger than Japan... oh what a crazy gigantic country !!

grape orchard. Grape 🍇 is typical fruit and Xinjiang grape is best one in China as he told. I tried and so sweet!!

砂漠だからまぁ熱いのはしゃーないけど尋常じゃない熱さ。50℃はあるだろっていう温泉に常に足湯状態。走りたいけど砂に足を取られて寧ろズボッと深く突っ込んでしまい足首まで大火傷w水の上を走るトカゲのように進む。てゆーか砂丘って登るの大変だなー！！

確かにこんなような山は腐るほど見てきたのでそこまで感動はしなかった。

Also I have seen such a this mountain too much. So it was not special one for me.

I arrived Urmuchi at10:30am. As I couldn’t find host, I had to stay hostel. But there was only one hostel which foreigner can stay and it’s expensive. Obviously we travelers come here as no choice...

Urmuchi isin Xinjang area. So people are Uighur or Han. So two letters are used.

ウィグル文字はアラビアっぽい。

Uighur letter seems to be Arabic. And speaking seems to be Turkish such as central Asian. For example, Thank you in uighur is lafmat(or rafmat?).

I may understand more uighur than chinese lol

This hostel is 60YRC. Oh! Expensive!! There was a guy who from Cameroun in same flat. I might know him coz I saw an info which another Japanese traveler wrote about him.

Well, I hung out with American guy who can speak Chinese very well.

He comes China many times. Xinjiang is after 8years again for him. He told me that everything is more organized and increased Hun people. It means to travel here is more uncomfortable.

Well, I certainly saw many cameras. 

I guess these camera are put each 10m. So crazy.

While walking, we swung by a mosque. 8years ago when American guy was here, this mosque was occupied by musulim people. Even some people couldn’t enter inside, they prayed outside.

Now, mostly part of this one bacame lingerie shop market however second floor seems to be existas pray room. Actually I couldn’t take photos appearance coz there was police.

I think China want that there is no culture and history of Uyghur in here. 

I was was so sad 😞 

In the night, We and another Chinese guy ate dinner together.

He can’t speak English but he used good translator haha.

we were satisfied with dinner. This Chinese guy took us small hill. Although entrance had security check, Only American guy was checked 🤣
