Creepy Capital Ashgabat

I headed out to Ashgabat. I was so nervous as immigration said not to go. :(；ﾞﾟ'ωﾟ'):

When I entered Ashgabat, many creepy buildings was waiting for me. To take photo of Government building is forbidden so I couldn’t take it too much. Also I didn’t know which is government ones.

Looks like near future which kids write but somehow no sign of life. So creepy.

And there were a lots police and armies and so on. Several people don’t wear uniform but they hold transceiver. I felt 1 or 2 police by 10m.

トルクメニスタンの首都アシガバートに入るとドラえもんの22世紀、のような世界。ネオンがギラギラ光る中、中世のヨーロッパ意識したのかソビエト時代のものを少し改良したような建物がそびえ立つ。その周りや歩道には警察やら軍人がウロウロと。不気味、という言葉がここまでしっくりくる町はない。こえーwww

I heard whistle sound. Someone seemed to take photo on where it isn’t allowed. 3 police started to run. What will happen.... 😱😱😱

I arrived central area. Then I used a bus. The fare is 0.5man. 10¢. However Building is very gorgeous real life is ... 

46℃ at 10:00pm.

Although I searched hotel, evey hotel was expensive!! (At least 40$). There is no way that I could not pay!! So I decided to sleep bus terminal. While sleeping, police came 3 times. As I couldn’t speak Russian, all of them said “good night” lol

It was so stressful and annoyed. So I stopped going to Hell crater which is the most main sightseeing place where I guess all tourist definitely go. 

I just did transit as visa says lol

Next day I went to buy a train ticket for Turkmenabat. In ticket office was so hot and humid And there were a lots people because train is very cheap in Turkmenistan.

When I kept a line, many people tried to cut in. They can’t wait and think only themselves. Finally police came and let them keep line. Are you guys kids???🤣🤣

Ticket was 31man(1.8$). Cheap.

So I walked until my departure time. Ashgabat is  very quiet. I didn’t often see people in public places.

Many people were cleaning. I guess they are employed by cheap salaries.. looks like slave.

 Anyway hot!!

I escaped a cafe. Although this cafe had wifi, I couldn’t connect VPN!! It didn’t make sense...

this hamburger and shake was free!! Somehow🙄

Women wears traditional dress.

I cameback platform. Then I was talking a guy. He came from Türkmenabat as vacation with his family. So he taught me when train come, where is my compartment and so on. 

1番左の女の子はGonchaって子。英語話せるし可愛いしモテるだろうなー！ホレタ。

They asked “how is Turkmenistan!?” I said “people are nice!! But politics is ...”

Then they also nodded 😂 however we stopped talking about politics.

I didn’t have time to talk about it with locals. So I really wanted to know. So I have to comeback here!!

train has air conditioner. Cool !!

12h later, I’ll be in Border between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
